Its main purpose is to regulate the pressure in the crankcase by safely removing excess gases such as unburnt fuel and engine oil vapours. This is particularly important in order to avoid pressure problems and optimise the performance of large engines. In addition, active crankcase ventilation helps to reduce harmful emissions and improve the environmental footprint of large engines.
